Metso secures equipment supply order for hydro plant in Brazil
Metso has received a EUR30m contract from Consórcio Construtor Belo Monte (CCBM) to supply equipment for construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric power plant in Brazil.
The hydro plant is located at the Xingu River in the northern region of the country.
Under the terms of the contract, Metso´s scope of delivery will include three automated large crushing plants, two portable plants and two mobile Lokotrack plants.
In addition to the equipment services, the contract also provision of services and parts.
Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for the first quarter of 2013.
CCBM is a consortium of ten construction companies, hired by Norte Energia for the construction of the plant.
Norte Energia is responsible for the implementation, construction and operation of the project UHE Belo Monte.
